Why the CDT is No Country for White Blazers

This article suggests that "white blazing," a term for only hiking the official Appalachian Trail as part of a continuous thru-hike, might work for the AT, but doesn't work for the Continental Divide Trail, which has many alternate routes. Hungry Cat discusses having to come to grips with there being no "correct way" to hike the CDT as part of his trip planning, and how embracing alternate routes is perfectly acceptable in a thru-hike focused on maintaining continuous footsteps from Mexico to Canada. This article may be useful to previous AT section or thru-hikers who are considering a thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail.
