This update covers our trek from Standing Bear to Hot Springs (mile 241.1 – 274.5). We make great time up the climb to Max Patch to meet my friend Nian who surprised us with North Carolina style BBQ from Luella’s! The following day we meet Fresh Ground for the first time, and push to get to Hot Springs by the evening. The weather is finally warming up and I’m thinking it’s time to add a Hawaiian shirt to the wardrobe soon!
