Congress Permanently Authorizes Land and Water Conservation Fund

The US House of Representatives passed a major conservation bill Tuesday that permanently authorizes the Land and Water Conservation Fund and designates more than one million acres of land for wilderness protection.
The vote was 363-62, and the measure goes to President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it into law. The Senate passed the measure 92-8 in early February.
