Sobs wracked through my chest and I tried to hold the deluge of tears and emotion. Fourteen days on trail during one of the wettest winters in Georgia history only allowed two days of reprieve from the bone chilling precipitation. I was no stranger to living in shades of damp for weeks at at a time, but this time I had a family in the rear view mirror.
