An Exciting First Week On the AT

I have made it through my first week on the AT, and I’d say I did pretty damn well. Sure, I slept three nights in shelters, one in my tent, one in a cabin, one in a hostel, and one by myself in a hotel (it was my birthday - treat yourself!). And yes, I took a zero on day 4. But I earned that zero (more on that later). I wish I could go on and on about the epic beauty of the mountains of
north Georgia, but I’ve mostly been hiking in a hazy cloudy fog situation.

Still, despite all of that, I love it.
