Plans on how to get to Springer Mountain this morning was still very fluid. YESTERDAY, I called many hiker shuttles and no one was available.
So this morning I gambled. I headed over to USFS42 and began hiking and praying someone would pick me up as I marched up the hill.
In about 20 minutes, the rain started coming down. So I pulled out my new Snow Peak umbrella only to find I hadn’t practiced how to attach it to my pack so I coukd still use my trekking poles…so shame on me 😶
Good thing it wasn’t coming down too hard and I quickly devised a plan and it worked. ...
