“Are You Sure You Want To Do This?” Why I’m Thru-Hiking the AT Explained To My Mother

It’s 6:04 in the morning and I cannot sleep.  Hello and welcome to my life as a night shift nurse.  I’m pretty sure I obtained this trait from my father who worked night shift for thirty years before retiring.  I’ve driven home tonight to spend the holidays with my family and have had the “are you sure you want to do this” talk with my mother for about the 20th time.
