The outdoor community has always had a way of attracting utopian dreamers, and the tradition of trail magic is perhaps the ultimate embodiment of the experience of the Appalachian Trail. Each year, the trail community is comprised of thousands of hikers, but it also includes nearly as many folks on the periphery of the trail who dedicate their time helping those hikers achieve their dreams.
