In the critical debate over GPS vs Laser Range Finders, I’m in the touchscreen GPS camp. I like being able to stand on the tee with an image of the hole on the screen and do quick calculations about angles and distances. Tap an area on the screen, and the gps unit offers the distance to that spot, and the distance from that spot to the green.
From the Garmin promotional materials:
- Sleek, compact handheld golf GPS with 2.3-inch color touchscreen display
- High-sensitivity GPS acquires satellites quickly to show distance to greens, hazards and doglegs
- Preloaded with more than 40,000 courses worldwide
- Full-color course mapping with Touch Targeting feature
- Green View allows you to place the pin in the correct location for the day, which improves distance accuracy
