Try to find material for the Roman shades that match the furniture in the bay window area. If you want to be a bit bolder, you can always use neutral or contrasting colors. To save money, consider ready-made drapery panels.  There are several places where you can purchase them.  Target and Lowe’s both carry a wide variety of drapery panels.

Contemporary Valances
A top treatment, like a valance, is a great solution to make a room open and inviting.
