Sitting here in my motel room in Hiawassee, GA, reflecting on the first week of my hike. Snow, rain, cold, and wind; my initial six days on the AT have been testing to say the least. However, the harsh conditions have done all but dull my spirits. I’ve gained new perspective, enjoyed new experiences, laughed to the point of tears, and formed bonds with numerous people of all ages and walks of life. All sorts of people are doing this. ...
